The canoe area consists of lakes and rivers in Dalsland, Värmland and Norway, waterways made for canoeing.
The main attraction is the exceptional natural beauty and the fact that the lakes are narrow so there is seldom risk for high waves. The Dalslands Kanal minimize the number of canoe lifts.
Scandianavian Canoe Outfitters Association, SCOA, has more than 800 canoes for rent in the area. There are about 120 approved campsites with timbered shelters, eco-toilets, campfire sites and fire wood.
